For 2016, Ballarat Clarendon College is seeking expert teachers in the areas of English; Secondary Mathematics; Secondary Science; and Primary teachers. Teachers in other disciplines are also invited to express interest. Salary offered will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s skills, qualifications and experience.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Ballarat Clarendon College is a coeducational school associated with the Uniting Church.  It is based in Ballarat, a rural city in the heart of Victoria, just over an hour’s drive from Melbourne, with a population of around 85,000 people. Approximately 1,350 students attend the school, from 3-year-old kindergarten to Year 12.

Key Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications, minimum four years study;
  • Eligibility for VIT registration;
  • Strong curriculum understanding;
  • Ability to affectively plan & design lessons;
  • Commitment to and understanding of the use of a range of assessment tools and techniques;
  • Sophisticated knowledge of subject curriculum, study designs and continua;
  • Proven ability to provide feedback to students;
  • Solid understanding of how to analyse data in relation to student progress and teaching effectiveness;
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in and out of the classroom;
  • Proven ability to manage time and conflicting priorities effectively;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build rapport with students, staff, parents and all other persons associated with Clarendon;
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all Clarendon community members positively and appropriately;
  • Previous experience working within a team environment with a focus on success and outcomes;
  • Proficient user of information technology.

Clarendon is a co-educational day and boarding school, enrolling students from Early Learning to Year 12. There is a Junior School (ELC to Year 4) campus and a Years 5 to 12 campus located in Ballarat and a residential program at Yuulong, just west of Cape Otway, where Year 9 students spend part of their year.
