We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of English to join our growing school in September 2015. This is a new post - the person appointed will teach Year 7, 8 and 9 initially but as the school becomes larger will be heavily involved in shaping and developing the curriculum.

NQTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.

St Andrew the Apostle Greek Orthodox School is a mixed, Greek orthodox secondary free school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-19. It is located in Barnet, north London, and has the capacity to take about 1,050 pupils.

The school - the first Greek orthodox state-funded secondary in Britain - was established in 2013 jointly by the Russell Education Trust, the Greek Orthodox Church and the Classical Education Trust.

The St Andrew the Apostle Greek Orthodox School’s motto is: “Ever to Excel.” The school aspires to deliver a broad curriculum that promotes both exceptional progress across the ability range and academic excellence

The school aims to foster a spirit of kindness, tolerance and responsibility, which it hopes will enable each student to grow in character as an individual and as a member of their community. The school seeks to help students to excel in sports, music and the arts, and encourages them to progress into higher education.

It also aims to help a high number of students to study maths, sciences, the classical subjects languages at university.
