Job overview

Cockshut Hill Technology College, currently working with Ninestiles School, An Academy, seeks applications from outstanding school teachers for the post teacher of English.

Our journey of improvement has started

In December 2013 Cockshut Hill went into Special Measures and Ninestiles School, an ‘outstanding’ academy (October 2013) was asked to offer leadership and management support. From that point our journey of school improvement began.

The partnership with Ninestiles (an ‘outstanding’ school with a national reputation for rapid and sustained school improvement) began in January 2014 and has resulted in swift, substantial and effective improvement as demonstrated by four successful monitoring inspections. This partnership will end in August 2015 but the school is committed to continuing the journey.

We are now looking for a dynamic and talented teacher who will help us to strengthen English across the school and raise the aspirations and achievement of our students.

The core business of all our teachers is to promote the educational success of all our students but possible responsibilities for the post include:

  • The modelling of best-practice in teaching and learning and a high level of professionalism
  • The dissemination of subject-focused pedagogy to support high standards of teaching and learning in the subject area
  • The use of collaborative working practices to support the subject
  • Raise standards by improving the quality of teaching and learning
  • Inspire, motivate and encourage students with a range of abilities
  • Contribute to an increasingly successful team

CLOSING DATE: 12pm Monday 13th April 2015.
INTERVIEW DATE: W/C 20th April and W/C 27th.
