Kelvinside Academy is an independent, HMC co-educational day school of some 600 pupils aged 3-18 in the west end of Glasgow.

We seek a well-qualified and enthusiastic graduate to join an outstanding English Department. Results in national examinations are well above the national average. The post will suit either a newly qualified teacher or a person with more experience. Willingness to contribute to the wider life of this energetic and ambitious school is essential.

The school aims to bring out the best in every pupil, combining high standards of teaching and a superb extra-curricular programme within an inclusive and caring ethos. Sport, outdoor pursuits, music, drama and art flourish, together with a range of clubs and societies. There is strong participation in the Cadet Forces and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The salary is based on the main national teachers’ scale and there is an additional KA allowance.

Kelvinside Academy is a leading independent school in the West of Scotland catering for boys and girls between the ages of 3 and 18.

The school comprises 3 stages: Nursery, Preparatory and the Senior School. All are located on the one site, and a key feature of the Kelvinside Academy experience is the seamless progression from stage to stage.
