Bluecoat Meres Academy is a place where students and staff are valued and cared for, in an environment where they can embrace all aspects of education.

We measure the success of our students in many different ways and offer them opportunities to develop and grow as people during their time with us.  As a small Church academy, we get to know our students extremely well.  Many comment on the family atmosphere when visiting us.  Much of this can be attributed to our ethos, which is driven by our values of believe in yourself, in others, in God.

In recent years, we have embraced the ‘growth mindset’ approach to learning, encouraging our students to develop their levels of resilience – a quality which will stand them in good stead in later life.  Every student belongs to a House: Socrates, Voltaire and Plato, and this is the vehicle which further strengthens our sense of community.

Our classrooms are modern, well-resourced and maintained so that every child, whatever their interest or ‘element’, can experience the best quality environment possible to enable them to achieve.

In addition to our varied curriculum provision, we believe very passionately in the role that sport can play in all our lives and encourage our students to take part in extra-curricular activities such as: tennis, football, cycling, table-tennis and rugby.

The voice of the student is a very important part of our culture and is led by the Head Boy and Head Girl and a team of prefects.  These students act as ambassadors for the academy and help to shape its future.

Of critical importance is the home-school partnership and we recognise the vital role that parents and carers play in the education process.  As such, we offer many opportunities to visit us and also to share in the events at the academy.

If you would like to visit, you would be made very welcome.
