Values and Vision
Treorchy Comprehensive School aims to teach the students the Welsh language. Pupils are taught to read Welsh in morning assemblies. The school also holds a national Eisteddfod to celebrate all things about Wales. The curriculum is balanced and enriching for all of its pupils. The students are given the correct amount of care and support from members of staff. Pupils who show a great amount of talent are pushed to pursue their skills.
Estyn report
“There has been an overall improvement in the school’s performance in the most important indicators at key stage 4 and most pupils make worthwhile progress from previous key stages. Performance in the level 2 threshold, including English or Welsh and the capped points score is consistently above modelled outcomes, although performance in English and Welsh first language has been mixed. Performance in those indicators that include a wide range of qualifications has shown steady improvement for the last four years. Pupils have positive attitudes to learning and show very high levels of respect for others. The school provides a wide range of learning experiences that meet the needs of its pupils well.”
