Job overview

People usually say that they got into teaching to make a difference. But how often do they really get the chance? At Mirus, you will be making a real difference in every single lesson.

The school has been through a tough time. For years, pupils have routinely achieved some of the poorest results in the country. But that time is coming to an end and we need you to play a key role in the school's transformation.

On 1st April Mirus was taken over by the Matrix Academy Trust under the leadership of Dame Maureen Brennan. Behaviour is already improving. This means that teachers can get on with doing what they got into the profession for: teach their subjects, develop young people's love of learning and secure their best possible futures.

Matrix's mission is to turn Mirus from one of the lowest achieving schools in the country to one of the highest. To do this, we need hard-working teachers who want to make a difference to children's life chances. Teachers like you.

Visit www.matrixacademytrust.co.uk to download an application form and send it to ldraycott@barrbeaconschool.co.uk

Closing date: 1st July 2015.

Mirus Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS clearance.

At Bloxwich Academy we expect everyone to 'be the best they can be'. We aim for all of our pupils to be respectful, confident and motivated learners who are proud of their achievement and their academy. We want all of our learners to aspire to achieve academically; to be able to access higher education or a good quality apprenticeship and to develop their employability skills to give our young people real-life chances.

It is our strong belief that embedding high standards of behaviour and attitudes to learning, along with developing excellent learning and teaching practices, lead to the best educational outcomes. We strive to provide high-quality professional development to all our staff to ensure they are the best practitioners in their fields. In addition to recruiting inspiring teachers and quality support staff to guide our young people to succeed. Through being part of Matrix Academy Trust we work closely with our training school to meet this aim. The progress achieved here at Bloxwich Academy in the last 12 months has been vast and we are determined to see standards improve further each and every day.
