Job overview

We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and committed Geography teacher to join our successful department. Geography is a core subject at KS3 and a popular GCSE and AS level option. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and also NQTs, for whom there is a high quality induction programme in place.

The department was awarded ‘outstanding’ in the most recent internal review and achieves excellent exam results consistently amongst the best departments in the school. The strong performance of students reflects the outstanding planning, teaching and feedback provided to students by department staff. Resources for all key stages are pre-planned and shared electronically; enabling staff time to differentiate resources for mixed-ability groups.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate consistent high-quality teaching, in-depth subject knowledge and a commitment to collaborative work. They will join a strong department with a range of experience and will also benefit being part of the Humanities Faculty which has a track record for first class teaching and learning.

Edmonton County School is a co-educational, non-denominational, community all-through school in Enfield, Middlesex. The school is split across two campuses, with the primary phase located on Bury Street and the secondary facilities on Great Cambridge Road. There are about 1,687 children aged 4-18 on the school roll, 278 of whom attend the sixth form.
