The position of Part Time Teacher of Geography has become available following an internal promotion. The successful applicant will be required to teach all year groups within the school from Year 7 to Sixth Form.

The Geography department currently consists of three experienced members of staff. Examination results were outstanding in 2014 with 96% A*/A at GCSE and 100% A*/A at A2. All girls study Geography up to the end of Year 9 and it is popular at GCSE level with half of the year group choosing this subject as an option. The AQA specifications are taught at GCSE and A Level. An increasing number of girls are choosing to continue studying Geography at university.

Fieldwork is a major part of our curriculum with overseas and domestic fieldwork taking place across all year groups. We run trips to Sicily and Iceland which are open to all and residential fieldwork in Dorset for Years 10 and 12. All staff are expected to contribute to the fieldwork programme and the successful applicant should have experience of teaching in the field.
