Founded in 1970, Campion's purpose is to provide a first-class education for boys and girls aged between three and eighteen, fostering abilities both in the field of academic and general education, and in sporting activities and the performing arts. Our IB results are consistently 5 points above world average, with nearly all our pupils progressing to higher education. Our most recent ISI inspection judged Campion to be excellent in every category.

Due to staff retirement and expansion, we are seeking to appoint two teachers to teach Greek to Junior School children. For the right candidate, there is the possibility of a responsibility allowance for the coordination of Greek cultural activities.

The successful applicant will teach Greek from Year 1 to Year 6 to native level and foreign language learners. They will have experience teaching within an International or British School environment. They will be strong team players and demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively. Campion is committed to the continual professional development of its staff, and training is available where appropriate.

What we are looking for:

●      A recognised teaching qualification.

●      Excellent teaching skills.

●      In-depth knowledge of the pedagogy of teaching Greek to Junior School aged children, including modern teaching methods.

●      Ability to teach Greek across all Key Stages in the Junior School (essential).

●      Experience of being part of a highly successful department and school.

●      Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.

●      Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a range of audiences in both Greek and English.

●      Ability to use ICT to facilitate learning and for effective management and administration.

●      An awareness of the issues arising from teaching students in an international school setting.

●      Ability to effectively assess and track students’ progress.

●      Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

●      Willingness to take on multiple tasks

●      Resilience and optimism; someone who is willing to go the extra mile in the busy life of the school.

Important notes:

Greek Applicants - You must hold a relevant degree and have completed the registry for teachers of private schools (Epetirida), or hold the qualifications to do so. Please note that international qualifications are not recognised as qualified teacher status for Greek candidates within Greece.

International Applicants - Your qualifications must be from the same country as your passport. You must also hold a relevant teaching qualification (QTS with completed NQT or equivalent) again from the country of your passport. Please note that the iPGCE is not currently recognised in Greece.

Campion School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, international independent all-through school in Greece, serving students from the age of 3-18. The all-through school is situated in the northeastern suburb of Pallini, 18 km from the Athens international airport, on its own purpose-built premises. It is a member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and the headmaster is a member of the Heads' Conference (HMC).

Campion School was founded in 1970, representing students from over 50 nationalities. The school moved to a state-of-the-art building in 2000, with separate primary and secondary schools managed independently on the same site. The school has a wide range of sports facilities, including a football pitch, covered sports area, running track and long jump area. Lessons are taught in English, with the opportunity of learning Greek, French, Spanish, German and Arabic. Teachers follow the British curriculum, with students sitting IGCSE exams followed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme.
