SCL International School is located on the island of Koh Samui in Thailand. We have a wide range of nationalities, and the school follows a curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales. We are seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced Secondary Teachers of Humanities to join our dedicated and hardworking team. Our motto is ‘Educating the mind, nurturing the soul’. We are committed to raising standards and provide a holistic approach to teaching, in which we strive to create a mindful, positive classroom ethos, which is child centred, creative and stimulating.

The ideal candidate will...

Have extensive knowledge of the National Curriculum of England and Wales Have a relevant degree and PGCE or BEd with QTS Have a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience Have experience of working with all abilities, including students with English as an additional language and those with special educational needs Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing situations taking into account where we are placed in the world.

SCL International School is a co-educational all-through school. It is based in Surat Thani in Thailand.

The school was established in 2004 as the Samui Centre of Learning. It began its life in a small Thai wooden house with just two students enrolled. Through a steady expansion plan, the centre has now blossomed into a school that can cater for up to 200 children, in a new and modern purpose built premises. In 2009, the school, which had previously only enrolled children of nursery and primary age, took the move into secondary education. In 2010, the school became an accredited Cambridge International Examinations centre and accredited to use the Cambridge Primary Years and Lower Secondary programmes. In 2012, the school was granted International School Status by the Thailand Ministry of Education. It became only the second school in the South East of Thailand to receive that accolade.

SCL International School’s motto is “educating the mind, nurturing the soul”. The school, through what it sees as a safe yet stimulating learning environment, wishes for its staff to enable all its students to become self-sufficient decision makers. It aims to place emphasis and value on the social and emotional development of its students. SCL International School aims to foster productive partnerships with parents and to provide a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum.
