The College is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, high performing and enthusiastic individual to the full-time post of Teacher of Law & Criminology, who will lead and inspire students. This is a new post to join a team of professionals in a fast-growing subject area.

LAW & CRIMINOLOGY AT NOTRE DAME

The Law & Criminology department is lively, dynamic and progressive in terms of its approaches to delivering the specifications we offer. We have a wealth of experience and professional knowledge and would welcome applications from teachers who feel they could make an immediate contribution to the teaching of Law at both A Level and BTEC Level 3 and Level 3 Criminology.

The Law & Criminology department is extremely high performing with a track record of achieving Outstanding ALPs value added for the last three years. Both subject areas are growth areas with students attracted to the outstanding outcomes, the specialist accommodation, and the impressive links with legal employers in the city. We are especially excited to launch a T Level Legal Services from September 2024, which will have specialist accommodation including a mock court room and specialist resources.

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional teacher who has the drive and enthusiasm to provide a high quality and challenging learning experience for our students whilst also ensuring a supportive and encouraging environment. Ideally applicants should have experience of teaching Criminology and Law, however, experience in teaching, Sociology and/or Psychology will be considered. Experience of teaching WJEC Level 3 Criminology would be beneficial, especially the controlled assessment units.

There is a friendly and professional atmosphere within the department and a strong emphasis on encouraging a positive rapport between staff and students in the pursuit of academic success. There is a wealth of experience and professional knowledge and an encouragement to undertake CPD.

Further information including the full job description and person spec can be found in the post description (detailed in the Applicant Information pack).

Closing date: 9am on Thursday 18 April 2024.

It is intended that interviews will take place week beginning 22 April 2024.

The College is committed to Safeguarding and promotes the welfare of young people and expects all staff, students and volunteers to share this commitment.
