Job overview

If you have excellent knowledge and understanding of Mathematics, a desire to share your passion for the subject and an interest in securing high quality professional development in an innovative and energetic department, then Ranelagh School is looking for you.

From September 2015, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and effective Teacher of Mathematics, able to teach to GCSE (and Advanced Level if possible). Students enjoy their Maths and results in the subject are excellent. In 2014 96% of our students at key stage 3 achieved Level 5 and above, 91% achieved GCSE A*-C grades, and at A Level 83% achieved grades A*-C.

Ranelagh is an 11-18 coeducational, Anglican Academy (converter) which is oversubscribed and has a reputation for academic achievement and positive school ethos. The school has had four ‘outstanding’ OFSTED reports, securing Grade 1 in all areas, but we are not complacent and as such the provision for professional learning and development is something of which we are all very proud.

This post may be suitable for a Newly Qualified Teacher. Potential candidates may also wish to know that our admissions policy enables the school to prioritise the admission of children of staff recruited to posts in which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. All staff employed in the school must be aware that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be undertaken.

If you are interested in learning more about the position, please contact the Headteacher via her PA, Mrs D Jeffers, from whom an application pack is also available for those responding by post.
