The Governors wish to appoint the following post , starting September 2015 (or earlier):

TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS

Derby Moor Community Sports College is an oversubscribed, 11 - 18, multicultural school with 1,580 on roll.

OFSTED (Dec 2012) judged us to be good overall with outstanding features. Key findings were:

  • Students achieve well. Attainment is steadily rising and students of all abilities make good progress.
  • The sixth form is outstanding.
  • Students behave well in lessons and around the school.
  • The inspirational Principal, supported well by her senior team and the outstanding governing body, has established high standards and is uncompromising in her drive to improve the quality of teaching.
  • The range of subjects provided is outstanding. It is closely matched to students’ individual interests and abilities.
  • The school promotes students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development outstandingly well in a harmonious community.

This post provides an exceptional opportunity for candidates and is suitable for experienced or newly qualified staff. You will have the opportunity to develop and contribute to an ambitious faculty with the benefit of a brand new school building to work in.

The Governors are looking for an individual with the following qualities:

  • Has the ability and desire to become an outstanding classroom teacher
  • Has the ability and desire to contribute positively to the wider school community
  • Has the ability and desire to teach Mathematics across KS3 to KS5
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire others
