Job overview

We are looking for exceptional teachers with evidence of outstanding teaching and securing outstanding learning to join our mathematics department.

The post would suit someone who is either an NQT or has experience of teaching this core subject and is looking for a new challenge. The ability to teach KS5 would be an advantage.

Mathematics is an integral part of Ely College life, with every lesson in every department for students in Y11 beginning with a numeracy problem. After school clinics and personalised intervention building on the classroom teaching are key to the success of students at all levels. We have also had great success in the annual maths challenge against other schools in the county.

This is an exciting time to join Ely College, graded Gold by Investors in People, as we focus on achieving Outstanding status. We offer excellent CPD opportunities and develop the staff to include whole school as well as departmental responsibilities.

An application form should be downloaded from our website: www.elycollege.com, and returned electronically to:

Judith Pruce, HR and Administration Manager

CVs are not accepted

Closing date: 14th April 2015

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS Check.

We are a community college with a rich programme of adult education. We work closely with the county’s youth service in supporting young people. Our specialist status allowed us to develop further our community work as well as enhance our links with local business. We have a strong programme of activities beyond the school day with music, sport and additional study activities playing major roles.

The performance of the College is reflected in an increasing confidence in our work in our local community. In 2007, our Year 7 intake is 230, the highest in the College’s history.

A major plank in our improvement has been our Business and Enterprise status. This has added to the College’s firm sense of direction and an even stronger focus on improvement.
