The Boswells School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of Mathematics. We are looking for the successful candidate to deliver high quality Maths lessons to develop an already strong provision within the Mathematics Skill Area. Applications are welcome from experienced Mathematics teachers as well as from colleagues who will be newly qualified teachers in September 2015.

You will be joining a school with enthusiastic and dedicated leaders at senior and middle leadership levels and a commitment to the professional development of staff. The Boswells School is keen to embrace an approach that is centered on teaching and learning and the academic attainment for our students. Mathematics is a vitally important element of our curriculum for all our students and this role has arisen following an increase in the curriculum hours we have allocated to Mathematics across the school.

The Boswells School is an 11-18, very successful, popular and oversubscribed school in the Springfield area of Chelmsford, Essex. We have achieved record GCSE results for the school in the last 2 years with 69% of our students achieving 5A*-C including Mathematics this year. Our sixth form is also thriving and results in this area are also well above both Essex and National averages. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high achieving, successful and popular school.

Academic Achievement

We are extremely proud of the achievements of our students. 2019 was another superb year for The Boswells School with our GCSE and A Level results making us one of the highest performing non-selective secondary schools in Essex. In 2019, 55% of our A Level students achieved A* to B grades, 88% of our A Level students achieved A* to C grades, 83% of our GCSE students achieved a Good pass (Grade 4+) in Eniglish and 71% of our GCSE students achieved a Good pass (Grade 4+) in Maths.

The percentage of students who achieved the expected levels of progress in English and Mathematics was significantly above the national average as was the percentage of students who achieved more than expected progress in these areas.
