Phoenix High School is a vibrant, multicultural school committed to enhancing the life chances of all the learners who attend.  The school caters for learners between the ages of 11 and 19.  The talents and achievements of our learners are celebrated as we prepare them for success.  Whether they choose a pathway to employment or academic excellence we will work with parents/carers to support their child(ren) in securing a better future for themselves.

We are committed to providing the best learning opportunities for all our students and the wider community.  We believe fundamentally that every individual has the capacity to achieve and it is our function to do all in our power to maximise the opportunities for success.

We believe that prior attainment is only a starting position and not an indication of where students are likely to finish.  It is our job to take the students above and beyond their expectation of themselves.  Students are taught in groups according to attainment levels and all students are expected to strive for excellence in everything that they do.  The atmosphere of our school is one of high expectations, fairness, transparency and mutual respect.

Phoenix High School offers a wide range of learning opportunities both inside the classroom and out.  We believe that learning beyond the classroom has the capacity to enhance and engage learners in new and innovative ways.

The school believes that parents and carers have a crucial part to play with the school’s staff in creating a climate of expectation that will encourage all students to achieve their very best.

Phoenix High School is a learning institution and is therefore committed to a continuous process of improvement.
