Job overview

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher of Mathematics for September 2015 to work in the department to coordinate the introduction of the new Maths curriculum.

We are seeking an inspirational teacher who is passionate about making mathematics relevant to today’s learners. Our ideal candidate would be an innovative and reflective teacher with fresh ideas in teaching and learning.

The teacher will be well qualified and confident teaching across the age and ability range at KS3 and KS4.

We are a large department with many highly-valued, experienced teachers and support staff. We are a close-knit and supportive team who work well together. Whilst we have high expectations of ourselves and each other, we balance that burden with kindness, humour and a shared sense of purpose.

There is capacity within the department to offer excellent support and mentoring to newly or recently qualified teachers. However we would be equally happy to welcome a more experienced teacher into the team who could contribute to the strategic development of the department.

The Mathematics department firmly believe that our pupils deserve the very best in order to encourage them to achieve or exceed their potential. In 2014, 83% of our cohort achieved

A* -C. All teachers have their own laptops and there are 5 ICT teaching rooms.

The school converted to Academy status on 1st February 2012. It is on the western side of Huddersfield, one mile from the M62. The road system makes travel to Leeds, Bradford and the whole Yorkshire region very easy.
