Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and appropriately qualified Teacher of Mathematics able to teach across the age range in a part time role as part of a team led by the Head of Senior School Mathematics.
King's pupils are prepared for iGCSE Mathematics following the Edexcel specification, leading to A level or Further Mathematics A level (also with Edexcel. Results are very good at all key stages with good take up in the Sixth Form and we are proud that several pupils in recent years have studied Mathematics at undergraduate level. Many more have continued with Mathematics through Economics, Engineering and related degree courses. Ideally, we seek a Teacher who has an ability to engage students in problem solving and can achieve an atmosphere of high expectation whilst being approachable. Experience in a similar context would be an advantage.

King’s Rochester is a mixed, non-selective, Church of England, all-through school with nursery classes and sixth form situated in Rochester, Kent. It is an independent school with boarding provision and an associate member of the Woodard Foundation. A smaller than average school, King’s Rochester provides 800 places for nursery, preparatory, senior and sixth-form students between the ages of 3 and 18 when fully subscribed.
The oldest choir school and the second oldest school in the world, King’s Rochester has roots dating back to the founding of Rochester Cathedral in the year 604 AD. King Henry VIII refounded the school in 1542.
