Job overview

Would you like the opportunity to work as part of a team of highly experienced and ambitious colleagues?

At Graveney, we are committed to delivering a broad and exciting curriculum to all of our students. We are a school with the highest aspirations and ensure exemplary standards of behaviour. We consistently achieve outstanding examination outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level; however, we believe in far more than academic success. Our curriculum encompasses a full range of experiences that will develop the students into confident, resilient and successful young adults with the prospect of a great future.

Graveney has an outstanding Maths Department with an extremely talented and committed team of teachers at its heart.

We are now recruiting for an inspirational teacher and leader to join the team and head up our provision at KS5. This is a key role – we have over 350 students doing Maths at AS or A-Level, plus over 50 studying Further Mathematics or Core Mathematics. Together with a Deputy KS5 Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing our new scheme of work as we move to Edexcel. You will take an active role in providing teaching and learning guidance to staff at KS5 and will be comfortable with the analysis of data to maximise the outcomes of all students. We have a fully inclusive 6th Form, and we pride ourselves on providing an excellent learning experience to everyone – you will need to champion this vision.

The department is dynamic, supportive and successful with a long history of excellent results. In 2023, half of our GCSE results were 9–7 and 89% at grade 9–4; at A-Level, 43% of all results were at A*–A, and 60% were A*–B. We invite you to join a department focused on delivering a Mathematics curriculum which provides opportunities for learners of all abilities to succeed. As a flexible practitioner, you will teach across a wide ability range while maintaining high expectations for all learners.

We are seeking to recruit a Head of Key Stage 5 to join our highly successful department from September 2024. Applications are welcome from experienced teachers who have high standards, commitment and passion for the subject. As a collaborative department with a real team ethos, we are seeking someone who will both add to the team and be open to support and regular feedback.

Graveney is an extremely popular and successful 11–18 School, situated in South West London, SW17 with the benefit of being situated in beautiful campus-style surroundings with excellent facilities and a warm community atmosphere. We have a commitment to providing the best opportunities to all students and to developing the professional skills and career opportunities of our staff within a supportive and collaborative environment.
