Job overview

Our successful and dedicated maths team is expanding! You have the unique opportunity to share the excitement of making a real difference for our students. You will be joining our creative, dynamic and experienced team. In July 2013 Ofsted found Bedford Academy to be a ‘good school with outstanding leadership’ with an ‘exemplary’ NQT programme. For us attitude, ideas, potential and teaching skill are important, we will actively support your development.

As a maths teacher working within our Maths and Business Learning Village you could teach across the age range and try out new ideas in our supportive teaching environment. We’re looking for an ambitious, talented teacher looking for an excellent stepping stone for leadership roles in the future and who shares our belief in the highest standards of academic achievement in an inclusive setting. You will also have the opportunity to be part of enrichment activities across the Academy.

We moved to our brand new building in 2012 with superb teaching facilities. In September, we expanded to add year 7 and 8 to our student numbers. Now, as a fully formed secondary school we are on the exciting journey to become an outstanding school for our community.

We wish to appoint someone who has:

  • Excellent teaching, reflective and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work as part of teams and be flexible
  • High quality organisational skills
  • The ability and drive to improve all student outcomes
  • Good subject knowledge

As a member of Bedford Academy staff team we can offer:

  • Excellent professional development opportunities and career progression
  • A friendly and supportive working environment
  • Opportunities to play a strategic role in the evolution of Bedford Academy
  • A modern, state of the art working environment

If you are passionate about improving outcomes for students and you are looking for an exciting opportunity to have a real impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment, then this could be the job for you.

Bedford Academy is committed to safeguarding the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to CRB checks and excellent references.

Further details about the Academy can be found on our website (below) and for further details about the post please contact Rosie Bonadies, PA to the Principal rbonadies@bedfordacademy.co.uk.
