The Children’s Hospital School at Great Ormond Street & UCH

We are looking for a skilled secondary mathematics teacher with drive, enthusiasm and resilience to join our successful and supportive teaching team. This post will predominantly involve teaching mathematics to KS 3-5 pupils in our Schoolroom on T12 at University College Hospital.

‘’Teachers are extremely skilled in adapting activities and levels of support to meet the needs of every student they teach. This ensures that students are engaged purposefully and make as much progress as they can.’’ OFSTED 2014

The role can be very varied. For example at times you may be expected to work one-on-one with a pupil who may have specific barriers to learning, whilst at other times you could be teaching a small group of students that require support in completing non mathematics course work set by their ‘home schools’.

‘’Staff value the headteacher’s commitment and consider that the school is exceptionally well led.’’ OFSTED 2014

This is a real opportunity for talented teachers, with a minimum of three consecutive years experience, to develop their teaching and leadership potential in a truly unique setting. We are looking to appoint individuals with a positive outlook and a proactive attitude. Are you prepared, if needed, to tackle any area of the curriculum?

We encourage interested applicants to read our website carefully http://www.gosh.nhs.uk/the-childrens-hospital-school/.

You will quickly see that you are applying to an extremely creative, successful school with a clear ethos of achievement, continuity and enjoyment for our truly exceptional pupils.

‘’The behaviour in lessons is exemplary and the students mirror the positive relationships modelled by adults.’’ OFSTED 2014
