Cordeaux is a special and unique place; you will discover this when you visit and feel the friendly, well-disciplined atmosphere which radiates through every part of the academy. We have a strong team of staff who are united in encouraging students to work hard, achieve their best and respect others. This means setting the highest standards for each individual student.

We are looking for a passionate, forward thinking and motivated individual who is willing to be part of a team to drive the Maths department to greater success. You will have experience of teaching at all levels of ability up to at least the end of KS4 and display energy, enthusiasm and commitment to ensure the best outcomes for our students. You will demonstrate high standards of delivery in a consistent manner and be committed to improving achievement across all key stages. Applications from NQTs would be very welcomed.

Mathematics is a popular and emerging subject within the academy. The department has a stable staff team and has been successful in establishing a core of good and outstanding practice.

Mathematics benefits from strong Academies Enterprise Trust subject specific support and the successful candidate will benefit from this in terms of continuing professional development. We currently teach the Edexcel syllabus and in line with AET policy all students are entered for the higher tier GCSE examination. In addition in Year ten students are entered for the foundation tier Statistics examination. We are at the forefront of implementation of the new national curriculum and in conjunction with our AET partners are developing a conceptual aspect to our teaching.

As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of the AET academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be offered membership of a Health Cash Plan, Vehicle Affinity Scheme, Cycle2work, Childcare Vouchers and Westfield Rewards.

They report feeling safe, and are safe in the academy. Most enjoy attending, as demonstrated by their above average attendance. In 2014 students made good progress in English and results in this subject improved. Sixth form students do well on work-related courses.
