Teacher of MFL – King Edward VI Community College

0.5 FTE

MPS / UPS Permanent

Required from September 2024

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and inspiring teacher of Spanish, ideally with the ability to also teach French. As an outstanding classroom practitioner, you will be part of the wider MFL faculty, with the potential to teach Spanish up to A’ Level.

You will be central to ensuring the best standards, outcomes and engagement in MFL from Key Stage 3 to 5. You will first and foremost be an excellent teacher who leads by example. Applications from ECTs warmly received. We have an excellent record of ECT support.

At KEVICC you will have the chance to work alongside a great group of colleagues who are all committed to the absolute best for our young people. You’ll work in a school that is proudly comprehensive, inclusive and kind. Most importantly, you will get to work with our fantastic students, with the chance every day to see the impact you have on their learning.

You will also be joining a forward-thinking school that is excited to collaborate across our trust of like-minded schools and more widely. We are delighted to have recently joined Education South West, a trust of local primary and secondary schools that includes a nationally recognised teaching school hub at Kingsbridge.

We want a great teacher, with the energy, work ethic and good humour to inspire and engage our students day in, day out.

We offer:

  • A highly supportive team of colleagues who are visible, hard-working and committed to our young people.
  • Ongoing bespoke professional development and career pathways, including National Professional Qualifications (NPQ) and Entry Career Framework (ECF).
  • The chance to work with great young people in a comprehensive setting, in a beautiful part of the country.
  • A multi-million £ investment programme planned across the school over the coming 3 years.
  • The opportunity to teach MFL across a truly comprehensive mixed age range.

KEVICC, as we are widely known, is situated in the South Hams town of Totnes, serving a wide and varied area. You can get a glimpse of what we are about via the website, Twitter (@KEVICC), Instagram (@kevicc.totnes) and YouTube (KEVICC Totnes).

We would welcome and always encourage prospective candidates to get in touch ahead of application. To do so, email Cristina Fernandez, Head of MFL Faculty: Cristina.Fernandez@kingedwardvi.org.uk

Interviews: Week commencing 20 May
