Job overview

Teacher of Music

Full or part-time, permanent from September 2024

We are recruiting a Teacher of Music to join the successful and thriving Team here at Cleeve from September 2024.

ECTs are very welcome and encouraged to apply and you will be supported by a very successful Head of Performing Arts ( who is a music specialist) and a broader team of professionals who focus on the quality and success of our ‘early career’ provision. As a School Direct lead provider, we place a large emphasis on developing teachers new to the profession. We would also look to pay an ECT over the summer holiday.

Music is one of the ‘go to’ curriculum areas within the school, with an emphasis on inclusion, performance and excellence. Music has its own bespoke, inter-linked parts of the school and we recently invested significantly in a theatre-style cantilevered seating arrangement, so that we have a large, performance-focused main hall, as well as a smaller Drama studio.

All-in-all, this is a wonderful and exciting opportunity to join a growing school that is thriving and that prioritises career development and pedagogical learning, underpinned by research and collaboration.

The school is an equal opportunities employer and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and therefore expects all staff and volunteers, to share this same commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Please apply using our application form available from our website

Closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 15th April 2024.

Two Hedges Road, Bishop’s Cleeve, Cheltenham GL52 8AE

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact the school.

Ofsted

“The overall achievement of students is good, and outstanding for some. It is outstanding for those students who need extra help and in some subjects, including mathematics. Students’ achievement in English and in the sixth form is good and improving.”

“Much teaching in all subjects and in the sixth form is at least good, with a significant proportion that is outstanding.”
