An exciting opportunity has arisen at Colne Valley High School to appoint a talented music teacher to join a high-performing music department as the Academy continues its journey to Outstanding.

As a teacher within the Academy we will expect you to be instrumental in helping to inspire and motivate both our staff and our students. Embracing both the outstanding culture and ethos of The Mirfield Free Grammar and Sixth Form Multi-Academy Trust, you will play a key role in helping to drive Colne Valley High School forward; raising standards and creating outstanding life chances for students.

The successful candidate will join a forward-thinking department with excellent facilities including 8 practice rooms, 2 music ICT suites, a state-of-the-are recording studio and live space. The high-profile Performing Arts department is held in high regard by staff, pupils and the local community. The department enjoys links with the University of Huddersfield, including exemplary training and support for ITT and NQTs. The department enjoys a healthy uptake for Music GCSE and Music Technology NCFE. Pupils at KS3 have one music lesson per week, and all pupils or all ages can enjoy a vast array of musical extra-curricular activities, including vocal groups, bands and percussion ensembles

We are looking for someone who will be excited by the challenges of the Academy’s journey to outstanding, and will want to share the department's vision of "Exceptional Performance, Every Performance". You should be able to plan, deliver and evaluate engaging, high quality lessons. You should be able to successfully use assessment, data and feedback to ensure pupil progression. You will play a key role in the extra-curricular life in the school, and will join the team in going above and beyond to ensure that the musical life in the Academy is a highlight for our pupils.

We are looking to recruit a Music Teacher who wants to inspire, is excited by learning and has a desire to develop a career as part of a dynamic and creative team within a high performing and successful MAT. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and driven by a passion to deliver outstanding Teaching and Learning.

As standard, we offer ongoing Continuous Professional Development covering all aspects of teaching, learning and leadership; preparing you for the next phase of your career.

The journey thus far has been quite amazing for the Trust and going forward will continue to offer even greater challenge, excitement and reward.
