Job overview

Trinity Academy Grammar

Teacher of PE

MPR/UPR

Trinity Academy Grammar is an ambitious and inclusive 11-16 school that, for the first time in the school’s history, is oversubscribed (with a waiting list) from September 2023.  At the start of the new academic year, we will have over 1,000 students on roll; having grown this number from 650 when we first started since becoming part of Trinity Multi-Academy Trust.

Trinity Academy Grammar has had a plethora of successes.  In February 2023 Ofsted graded the academy as good with outstanding features in leadership and personal development.  This followed being awarded the World Class School mark in 2021.  These transformational changes mean that it is an exciting time to join the academy, we are incredibly proud of our successes, and we are looking for the best people to work alongside our already committed team to continue our journey.

In 2018/2019, the results we achieved placed us within the top 1% of the most improved schools in the country, making us one of the highest-performing schools for progress in the Calderdale local authority.  Aspirations and ambitions are high; however, the school is determined not to rest on its laurels and is continually striving for ways to better serve the students.

Trinity MAT is a high performing and successful cross-phase trust.  The trust also collaborates extensively with schools across the country through the Trinity Institute of EducationWest Yorkshire Maths Hub and White Rose Education initiatives.  Through this support and the world class CPD we offer, you will receive professional development like no other, including directly from the Principal and other key leaders within the MAT.

If you would like to visit the academy or arrange a conversation with the Principal, please contact kball@grammar.trinitymat.org

The Trinity MAT were first approached to work with the then Sowerby Bridge High School, when it had been graded as inadequate by Ofsted and had been ranked in the bottom 15% of all schools nationally.

After joining the MAT in 2018 the progress made has been outstanding. The academy has improved its Progress 8 outcome by 0.92 and the performance puts us comfortably in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country.

In September 2021 we will be adopting the new name of Trinity Academy Grammar to better communicate our identity, high standards and aspirations for our students. We have chosen a name which truly reflects our grammar school heritage, and to better showcase our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, as we continue to build on this legacy through our outstanding achievements and passion to help our students reach their full potential.

It is a very exciting time to be considering joining Trinity Academy Grammar.  We can offer candidates the opportunity to work in partnership with the Principal and the senior leadership team, teachers in the school and other professionals across the trust (including the Teaching School and West Yorkshire Maths Hub).

The working environment is supported by committed, hardworking and supportive colleagues who are focused on improving outcomes for our students. Comprehensive pastoral systems are embedded to ensure the behaviour of students is outstanding and they are happy and supported in their learning.

As an academy we have high expectations of staff, we expect staff to challenge our students and themselves. We set high standards and aim to display these in all that we do. Working for Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge is rewarding, we can offer a fantastic environment, excellent CPD programmes and a range of opportunities to progress. These ambitions are shared across all schools within the trust.
