TO COVER MATERNITY LEAVE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified PE specialist to join our department of six full-time teachers. The department enjoys excellent on-site facilities including a Sports Hall, well-equipped gym, dance studio, tennis courts and extensive playing fields. Physical Education is taught at both GCSE and ‘A’ Level.

Overton Grange is a popular, oversubscribed, comprehensive school, with around 1250 students on roll and has enjoyed consistent academic success. In 2008 the school received specialist status in English and Humanities. The school is fully committed to inclusion and has a Hearing Support Department. In 2011 the school became a converter-academy within the partnership of Sutton Secondary Schools.

Overton Grange is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Candidates will be required to undergo the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enhanced disclosure process.

“Pupils who receive pupil premium funding, disabled pupils and those with special educational needs are making progress similar to their peers. The curriculum is diverse. A wide range of extracurricular activities allows pupils to explore diversity. This develops their spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding. Pupils’ attendance is good. They generally behave well and are supportive towards each other. This enables all pupils, including those accessing the hearing impairment resource, to be included well in academy life. Safeguarding is effective. Leaders and governors undertake appropriate and careful checks on staff, and record information well. Staff undertake regular and effective safeguarding training.”
