Job overview

The School seeks to appoint a Physics or Engineering graduate to teach Physics throughout the School. The appointment will commence on 1 September 2015. There are eight full-time members of the department and two full-time technicians. Appropriate housing will be provided.

Job Description

  • The appointee will be capable of teaching Physics to Pre-U standard.
  • He or she will report to the Head of Physics.
  • Participation in the School’s cultural and/or sports programme is essential.
  • All dons must be involved in tutoring in a boarding House.

Situated in Hampshire, Winchester College is an independent, secondary school for pupils aged between 13 and 18. The school was founded in 1382 by the Bishop of Winchester, William of Wykeham. It was expanded in the 19th Century to accommodate the popular demand in the local society. At the moment, there are over 700 pupils enrolled at the boarding school.

This includes communication and leadership skills. The school hopes the children will become life-long learners and be excited to continue learning a subject of their choice at university level.
