We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, talented and inspiring classroom practitioner to join our Humanities Department. The successful candidate will teach RPE across all ability groups in KS3 and KS4. The high performing Humanities Department includes history, geography, RPE and sociology. The department work collaboratively to prepare our pupils to be citizens that aim to make positive contributions to their future communities.

This is a permanent post, suitable for an experienced teacher or a highly motivated Early Career Teacher wishing to join a team of specialists who ensure a high standard of teaching, learning and achievement. We are looking for candidates with excellent subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate our ambitious and hardworking pupils. The ability to teach sociology would be advantage. The post is offered from September 2024 to start the new academic year. We have flexibility within our timetabling and would be pleased to receive applications from candidates who are interested in a full or a part-time (0.8fte) role.

The subjects of Religion, Philosophy, Ethics are highly valued at Chulmleigh College. All pupils study Religious Education/Religious Studies to full course GCSE in key stage four and it is delivered as a discrete subject in key stage three. GCSE outcomes in Religious Studies have been historically strong. Sociology has been offered as an optional GCSE since 2021 and has become one of the most popular option choices in KS4. Both subject areas are well resourced and planned.
