An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an outstanding teacher to join our high performing religious studies department. Religious studies is a very popular subject in our school and is taught as a core subject at key stages 3 and 4. At GCSE, the AQA specification is taught and student outcomes are outstanding. In 2023, 67% of a cohort of 359 students achieved grades 7-9 in the full course GCSE, with 21% achieving a grade 9! At A/AS level, Religious studies is an equally popular choice and we currently have 125 students studying the OCR GCE specification. In 2023, the average grade achieved at A level was grade A.

We wish to employ a Teacher who has a good subject knowledge and is passionate about sharing their knowledge with young people. You must be a reflective practitioner and be committed to strong personal growth and continuing professional development. This position would suit an ECT or a more experienced teacher looking to broaden their experience at a successful inner-city school. A significant TLR allowance will be available to a suitably experienced applicant to take on an additional leadership role within the department as key stage coordinator.

Students enjoy participating in a range of extra-curricular opportunities outside of the classroom. In the younger years’ students attend clubs where they discuss ethical and philosophical issues whilst our older students complete research projects in the local community and regularly attend lectures and seminars at local universities.

Brampton Manor converted to Academy status in April 2011 and formed a multi-academy trust called Brampton Manor Trust in 2013. In January 2014, Brampton Manor sponsored another local school, Langdon Academy (a 3-16 school), who joined our Trust in January 2014. There is strong collaborative working between our schools.
