Ratton is one of the most popular schools in East Sussex with a very strong reputation for building student confidence and providing rich opportunities for students and staff to succeed.
We are looking for an imaginative and skilled Teacher of Science who is committed to our vision and values and driven by the desire to improve the life chances of young people. We are a successful and developing department. Last year 74% of students achieved grades A*-C (or equivalent) in two or more Sciences. At KS3 we follow a broad curriculum based on the OUP science works programmes of study. At KS4 we offer seven courses taught in one of three pathways:
Pathway 1. The separate Sciences GCSE (OCR) Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Pathway 2. GCSE Core Science (OCR) and GCSE Additional Science (OCR)
Pathway 3. BTEC Applied Science and BTEC Principles of Science
The Science curriculum is taught out of nine dedicated laboratories and is supported by a team of three technicians. You will be joining an ambitious and highly supportive organisation which offers:

History and Vision
Ratton School transitioned into a converter academy in August 2012 and later merged with Ocklynge Junior School in December 2017 to establish the South Downs Learning Trust. The primary objective of our trust is to deliver an outstanding educational experience while preserving the individual identity of each school, fostering collaboration to enhance the learning environment for all learners.
