Job overview

We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic teacher to join our Science department in September 2024. 

You should be a dynamic, well-qualified, organised and committed teacher who wants to achieve exceptional outcomes for students at Caldew School.  The person appointed will have drive to ensure that our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed in in all aspects of their lives. Teachers of any specialism will be considered.

Our well-resourced department and team of Science professionals have a record of achieving outstanding results for our students. 

The post is suitable for an ECT as well as experienced teachers and offers and excellent opportunity to receive support through the school’s comprehensive ECT and CPD programme.

About Caldew School

Caldew School is a popular, rural 11-18 mixed comprehensive school situated south of the city of Carlisle with a catchment area that extends to the fringe of the Lake District. We have 1000 pupils on roll including Sixth Form.

We have a good and improving track record of achievement at all examination levels, good resources and facilities and a rich programme of visits and extra-curricular activities.

Our Ofsted inspection in June 2022 graded Caldew as ‘good. However, we are not complacent and we know that there are areas where we need to do better.
