We are currently looking to recruit a Science teacher to take up their position in September 2015. In the science department there is a wide range of experience from members of the senior leadership team to newly qualified teachers. The science department is consistently one of the top performing departments in the school and this would be a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced teacher.

“At St Thomas More we are passionate about learning and teaching. The school gives the highest priority to quality teaching that excites, motivates and challenges all of us. We endeavour to encourage each individual to grow and develop through the love and teaching of Christ into responsible citizens able to make a positive contribution in society." Markus Ryan, Executive Principal.

St Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive School was founded in 1964. It is an outstanding mixed 11-16 comprehensive school with a roll of 630 pupils. It is located in the south east of London in the Royal Borough of Greenwich (Inner London weighting). Our excellent record of academic success puts us consistently in the top 10% of schools nationally. Students gained 98% 5 or more A* – C passes at GCSE in 2014 and 84% 5 A*-C (including English and Maths). We are very proud that over the last few years over 42% of all GCSE grades are at A or A* which rivals many selective grammar schools.

St Thomas More has the reputation of being a school with the highest standards of discipline. A premium is put on courtesy, smart appearance and good order; discipline is based on mutual respect between teacher and pupil. Pupils have real motivation to work hard and to succeed. Staffing in St Thomas More School is excellent. Staff are supported through career development and progression is strongly encouraged. We have recently become a training school and provide a wide range of CPD to support all staff. Staff work together as a team and give tremendous support to each other.
