Job overview

“The respectful and harmonious ethos permeates the school community” Ofsted 2014

King Ethelbert has an inspiring ethos and a thoroughly motivated staff team.

We need a talented science specialist to work with our enthusiastic and ambitious students in this 11-18, 800 student, mixed secondary school. Experience with BTEC Science would be helpful but not essential. We have had a £20 million rebuild through BSF providing the school with excellent facilities throughout.

We are the most successful non-selective school in Thanet and are a strategic partner of East Kent Learning Alliance. We are proud to be a model school for Kent, developing the most effective techniques to improve student progress. In the Sixth Form we offer the new and exciting International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (CP) which has brought the school international recognition.

King Ethelbert is located in the picturesque seaside town of Birchington which has some of the most stunning coastal views in the country. Housing is affordable and the area benefits from a warm and sunny climate.

King Ethelbert School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This position is, therefore, subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (previously CRB) application.

For further information and application packs for the above please see our website: www.kingethelbert.com (under ‘contact us’) or contact Debbie Shallcross, Personnel Administrator  telephone 01843 831999, email personnel@kingethelbert.kent.sch.uk. King Ethelbert School, Canterbury Road, Birchington-on-Sea, Kent CT7 9BL or ring the school to arrange a pre-application visit if you wish.
