The Bulwell Academy is proud of its heritage yet is firmly placed in the 21st century.  We aim to provide an education tailored around each of our students to ensure they are ready to progress towards their future as successful 21st century citizens.

The building has been designed to provide a nurturing environment to stimulate young minds, through light and open classrooms, quieter independent learning areas and state-of-art learning and sporting facilities.  Our specialism, as a business and enterprise academy, focuses us on our key role in growing academic achievement, developing enterprising behaviours and strengthening the emotional intelligence of our students.

Building values and developing enterprise skills
The Bulwell Academy places tremendous emphasis on developing skills to enable students to be successful in their careers.  Enterprise skills enable students to have a ‘can do’ attitude.  This starts with developing their Six Rs.

These values nurture reasoning, reflection, resilience, resourcefulness, responsibility and respect within our students and establish the foundations and core values for our students and staff.  These attributes form the basis of our rewards system which recognises success and rewards positive behaviour.

As students progress through the academy and master these skills, the older students are then actively encouraged to develop their enterprise skills – their leadership, team working, creativity, innovation, risk management and problem solving skills.  All these are essential skills that every employer is looking for when employing staff to secure the success of their business.
