With over 2000 pupils aged 11-18, around 500 of whom reside in the school’s sixth form, Wickersley is much larger than the average secondary school. The school also provides specialist provision for hearing-impaired pupils, as well as a small amount of off-site provision for students with particular educational needs. The school converted to an academy in 2014, but is not part of any multi-academy trust.
