Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher to cover the teaching of Geography and A level sociology. This is a temporary role to cover a maternity leave in a well-resourced and a successful department and we need the successful candidate to start on 23rd August 2024. We anticipate the contract being for one school term and teaching resources will be provided. We offer a supportive school community, wonderful students and a well resourced department.


You must already have the right to work in Switzerland or hold an EU passport to be considered for this role.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Experience

  • Teaching qualification and experience of teaching 11 to 18 year olds.
  • An enthusiastic and creative approach to teaching, which inspires pupils and enables learning to be engaging and relevant.
  • Flexibility, a sense of humour, and a willingness to take part in all aspects of school life, including tournaments trips, projects, special events and extracurricular clubs.


Desirable

  • Experience of teaching Geography at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5
  • Experience of teaching A level sociology
  • Experience in leading or accompanying Geography fieldwork trips
  • Good IT skills
  • Knowledge of the GCSE and A-Level Geography qualifications and curriculum 


SALARY AND BENEFITS

The salary for this role will be shared with shortlisted candidates. In addition, staff children can attend the school at ⅓ of the tuition fee and our After School Care will be free of charge.
