The College requires a Teacher of Spanish (and French) to teach Spanish to AS and A2 level also French to AS and A2 level.
Applications from NQTs and Teachers in Schools and Sixth Form College sectors are welcome. A full mentoring programme is organised to introduce all new staff to sixth form college systems and procedures and to support and encourage professional development.
The Modern Foreign Languages Department is a successful area of the College. Student recruitment numbers have grown rapidly over the last few years and the department has been pro-active in broadening the curriculum to meet the needs of students. The department hosts a range of extra-curricular activities which include yearly language trips.
In addition, our students are encouraged to use the Departmental e-learning programme in order to fully prepare for all taught lessons, consolidate classroom-based teaching and further stretch their understanding of modern foreign languages. Our students value the emphasis we place on learning and this is reflected in the excellent MFL students’ feedback. In terms of teaching, in the MFL Department, we are very much focused on the development of the four skills of reading, listening, reading and writing in their chosen language, which are covered concurrently in most lessons. Our expectations are high and we offer individualised support to ensure that all of our students meet and exceed their potential. From bookable 1:1s to out-of-hours support and intensive revision programme, our students are confident that they will receive the guidance that they need to really excel.
Salary: £21,684 to £37,008 per annum, on Sixth Form Colleges’ Association Teaching Scale plus £974 allowance per annum

A full size 3G pitch was completed in 2020. A £3m teaching block and another £3m project working collaboratively with an adjacent community centre will enhance our estate even further within this academic year.
