Job overview

Permanent -Full Time - Start: September 2024

Prior Park College, Bath is looking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Teacher of Religious Studies to join our thriving Theology department from September 2024.

The ideal candidate will be a specialist teacher with an excellent academic background, first-rate communications skills and a passion for holistic education. The position could suit an ECT starting their journey into teaching and looking to benefit from our structured & recognised induction programme, or a more experienced practitioner eager to take the next step in their career at this prestigious and friendly school.

The Theology department comprises five teachers and enjoys a dedicated suite of classrooms at the heart of our estate, along with Prior Park’s exquisite neo-classical Chapel, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows. The department supports Religious Studies provision as a core subject at KS3 and GCSE and is a popular option at A-Level.

Familiarity with the teachings of the Catholic church would be desirable.

All staff and students at Prior enjoy their own school-provided Windows 11 laptop for use at work and home with touchscreen and active pen technology. Staff laptops dock into large flat-panel displays in all classrooms, and our teaching makes extensive use of Microsoft OneNote and Teams.

Established in 1830, Prior Park combines the very best of tradition and progress, with cutting-edge facilities and accommodation, including a pioneering digital learning programme.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
