Teacher Primary

Working 35 hours per week we are seeking to appoint a permanent Teacher. This vacancy offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work within St Joseph’s RC Primary which has a projected roll of 54 pupils organised across 3 classes. The successful applicant will join a caring and enthusiastic staff team who work hard to meet the needs of all our pupils.

Due to a shared headship, we offer opportunities to work with our associate school, Belmont Primary, with a roll of 320 pupils, a 100 place nursery and a Children’s Centre supporting pupils with severe and complex needs. Working within this partnership arrangement affords opportunities to join a committed, hard-working group of staff who consistently strive to improve teaching and learning and raise standards, communicating and collaborating as part of a team. In line with Section 21 (2A) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 the successful candidate for this post will require to have the approval of the Roman Catholic Church. This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
