Job overview

Applications are invited from experienced, registered teachers who have a proven interest and knowledge in working with children with additional support needs, in particular children who have a sensory impairment. The post is within the sensory team, which is part of the Renfrewshire Specialist Services Team based at the Flexible Learning Centre in Brediland Primary School, Achray Drive, Paisley, PA2 9DJ.

The sensory team supports pupils who have a visual and or hearing difficulty in the pre-five, mainstream primary and secondary sector. Identified pupils in the special sector receive monitoring support through occasional visits from a number of teachers from the sensory team.

An additional qualification in sensory support is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate however would be required to undertake training in supporting pupils with a sensory impairment, leading to a relevant qualification.

As the post is peripatetic there is a requirement to travel to a small number of establishments.

Post hours are 21 per week. The annual salary for working this is £15,741 - £20,932.
