Job overview

Job overview

Gossops Green Primary is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant & Lunchtime Supervisor to join our professional services team.

The roles are for a total of 31.25 hours per week, term time only.

What does the role involve?

In this role you will support children with their educational, emotional and social development; working alongside the class teacher and other colleagues to help children reach their full potential.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the learning of groups or individual children during lessons, following guidance from the class teacher. You will be based in one year group and once trained, will be expected to organise and prepare teaching resources, deliver learning interventions and implement behaviour expectations.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for colleagues who demonstrate patience in a range of situations, who are able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and who can work collaboratively and reliably as part of a team. Experience of working with primary age children would be beneficial, in addition to knowledge of how children learn. The ability to ‘think on your feet’ is welcomed, as no one day is the same in a school and flexibility is key to successful working with all stakeholders.

Ultimately, we are looking for Teaching Assistants & Lunchtime Supervisors who are enthusiastic, focused and keen to support excellent educational outcomes for all our pupils, whatever their needs.

The job description and person specification shown in the application pack will give you a good indication of who we are looking for, including the skills and experience that would make for our ideal candidate.
