Teaching Assistant Apprentice

Job Details

• Supervise and support children, ensuring their safety and access to learning.
• Encourage children to act independently as appropriate.
• Prepare the classroom for activities, and clear away afterwards.
• Be aware of children issues/progress/achievements and report back to the lead practitioner as required.
• Support the teacher in managing children’s behaviour, reporting any difficulties.
• Gather/report information from/to parents/carers as directed.
• Support children in respect of school EYFS, e.g. Managing feelings and behaviour, Communication and language, and Physical Development, as directed by the lead practitioners.
• Prepare, maintain or arrange specialist maintenance of equipment/resources.
• Assist with the supervision of children out of lesson times, including lunchtimes.
• Accompany teaching staff and children on visits, trips and other out-of-school activities.
• Compliance with all necessary policies and procedures relating to child protection, equality and diversity, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
