Teaching Assistant

The Governors at Hartside Primary School are looking to appoint a highly motivated, positive and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within our EYFS Department predominantly supporting one child with learning difficulties but also to work with others and ensure they make outstanding progress. Ideally you will have knowledge of SEN practice and preferably some experience of working with children with learning difficulties.

Temporary until 31st March 2016

The successful candidate will join our EYFS team and work between the Nursery and Reception classes.

The key duties of the successful candidate will be to:

• Provide learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils under the professional direction and supervision of a qualified teacher, differentiating and adapting learning programmes to suit the needs of allocated pupils
• Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment as agreed with the teacher
• Monitor and record pupil responses and learning achievements, drawing any problems which cannot be resolved to the attention of the teacher

Essential Qualifications:

• Working at or towards the national occupational standards (NOS) in Supporting Teaching and Learning reflected in the mandatory and relevant optional units of the level 3 NVQ and Level 3 diploma in specialist support for teaching and learning on the Qualification and Credit Framework.
