At Knowleswood Primary School we take great pride in educating children in a nurturing, challenging, exciting and purposeful environment. We work with determination to help all children achieve their potential.

The role in school is a new one, with many exciting opportunities. The position will involve the successful candidate leading games and the organising of playtimes and lunchtimes in school, including supervising lunchtime staff. The role will also allow for the person to work alongside the class teacher in delivering the PE curriculum to all KS1 and KS2 classes, with opportunity to lead when appropriate. Furthermore there will be an expectation that after school sports clubs will be led from Monday to Thursday. Final time will be allocated to carry out administration tasks to ensure our school is working successfully alongside our pyramid of schools in PE. All of these roles will be supported by the newly appointed leader for PE and After School Clubs in school.

The school is looking for a professional PE Teaching Assistant with good communication skills, and proven skills and abilities in sport/physical education to work alongside their friendly class teachers to support PE.

In addition we want someone who will run a varied menu of after school and lunchtime sports club which will enthuse and excite the children as well as develop their skills in different sports. This post will be ideal for prospective Teach First Students, which can be supported by school

You must be willing to work across the Primary age range.

Hours: 26 hours per week (10:20am-4:20pm Monday to Thursday. 10:20am to 3:05 on Friday, 45 minute lunch each day) x 39 weeks per annum.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

Desirable that you would have coaching credentials or a degree in PE, but not essential.
