Teaching Assistant (L4)

Job Description

The Governing body wish to appoint a bright, upbeat, educated candidate that are flexible, hardworking, dedicated and friendly qualified teaching assistant to support the learning of pupils predominantly across KS2.

The post will involve taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision, for all pupils, including those who need particular help in overcoming barriers to learning.  This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or whole classes for P.P.A. or short-term absences.  This will include monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils achievement, progress and development.  Responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school.

The successful candidate will:

• work with children at all levels regardless of specific individual need and identify learning styles as appropriate
• adapt own approach in accordance with pupils needs
• have an excellent understanding of national curriculum and other basic learning Programmes/techniques
• use of ICT to support learning
• have excellent communication skills, feeding back accurately and concisely to colleagues
• have the ability to manage behaviour of children in a positive and supportive manner
• have a friendly, approachable and professional manner
• a calm approach
• a commitment to working as part of the whole school team and supporting the vision and aims of the school
