Teaching Assistant - Level 3

We have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant position available, term time only, for 32.5 hours per week. This is a temporary post to work with a pupil on a 1:1 basis, subject to continuation of ALN funding.

Working under the guidance of a Behaviour Analyst/ABA and teaching/senior staff you will undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for a pupil on the Autistic Spectrum. Full ABA training will be provided (40 hours) and will involve using Applied Behaviour Analysis. Supervision and support will be ongoing from a Behaviour Analyst.

This role will involve approximately 50% time in the classroom, 50% in a one to one setting, as well as some home interaction should this be necessary for transition work.

The position will require a reflective practitioner with the flexibility, creativity and willingness to be responsive to constructive criticism.

A highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently-but be able to liaise with teaching staff and external consultants in order to facilitate inclusion for a pupil on the Autistic Spectrum.

Proficiency in I.T. skills would be an advantage.

Ability to sustain and complete a range of records to monitor the programme.

Some experience with behavioural strategies and the ability to be reflective in the process.

Elements of personal care may be necessary within the role.
