Redgate Primary Academy are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic, talented and supportive team. We would very much recommend and welcome you for a visit so you can meet us and understand our community.

A large proportion of our children have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and moderate or severe learning disabilities (MLD/SLD). In our latest Ofsted inspection, we were rated ‘good’ in all areas with comments that the ‘school is friendly and inclusive,’ and that ‘children enjoy their time in school’ with pupil’s personal development being a ‘high priority’.

The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Teaching Assistant to be part of the team at Redgate Primary Academy to support pupils with severe learning difficulties, under the leadership and supervision of the Principal and the Lead Teaching Assistants.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Work collaboratively and know that relationships are key within our community
  • Hold a relevant qualification and have experience of working with SEN

Essential

  • Display commitment to protection and safeguarding of children and young people
  • An understanding of specific learning difficulties and or physical impairments.

 

Desirable

  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and own position within these.
