£15,207 to £15,941 per annum, pro rata

An opportunity has arisen to strengthen our team of Teaching Assistants. Working closely with the Class Teacher you will support the development of pupils’ teaching and learning and their physical and mental wellbeing. Encouraging and developing independent learning and promoting excellent behaviours, Kingsham Primary School aims to create a vibrant, happy and exciting learning environment in which our children are encouraged to do their best and achieve their full potential.

Supporting the Class Teacher, as a Teaching Assistant you will work for 18.75 hours per week (3.75 hours per day) to support a wide range of activities and learning activities, to ensure a safe environment, preparing and clearing away materials and resources as required.

The role of the 1-1 Teaching Assistant will involve similar duties for 11.25 hours per week (2.25 hours per day), supporting an individual child with specific needs; this may also include small group work.

These hours can be combined into one 30 hour position.

With level 2 awareness of the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning, and a general understanding of effective strategies that underpin positive behaviour at primary school level, you will be a good communicator, with the ability to adapt to the audience. With a positive and flexible approach, and the presence to inspire confidence and trust, we encourage individuals with an enthusiasm to see children progress and develop to apply.
